Valentine’s Day 2021 - Lockdown Date Ideas

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner now, and whether you love it or hate it I’ve come up with some fun things you can do to make it as special as possible during lockdown...

Spending it single? - Treat yourself! Valentine’s Day can feel like a massive slap in the face to a lot of people. Whether you’ve gone through a tough break up or just don’t like the holiday, it can feel like a slap in the face for many. I find the best way to approach situations like these are “if you can’t beat them - join them”. Show yourself some love and remember that the most important person in your life is yourself!

Galentine’s Day has become a big trend in recent years so why not get all dressed up, get a bottle of wine and do a fun quiz night with your friends? Or send someone you love a card and box of goodies to remind them that you’re thinking of them. Who wouldn’t want that?

Spending it with your partner? - Whether you want to go all out with a three course meal or order your favourite take away in your pyjamas, I think that setting the scene is a great way to make the day feel that bit more special.

3 course meal on the cards? Bring out the fancy tableware, set the table as beautifully as you would at Christmas and get dressed up in your favourite clothes - why not make it feel like a proper restaurant date?

Take away in pyjamas? Get those candles and fairy lights on, blankets galore, film snacks and Netflix at the ready. If going full sloth with your partner is your vibe then make it the most spectacular movie night yet!

So, whether you feel like the Bridgertons or Bridget Jones this year, let’s make the most of the extra time we can spend taking care of ourselves and the ones we love. After all, isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is really all about - appreciating the ones you love? If you’re living your best single life this year, embrace it! Everyone has someone in their life that they love and who loves them right back... so remember that and have a wonderful Feb 14th.
